Complex Deformity Correction
A 45-year old female presented to the office with bunion and arch pain. She thought that her main problem was her bunion. However, on further careful and thorough examination, the patient had a combined complex deformity. She had a severe unstable bunion deformity in addition to malalignment of her midfoot (medial column arch) which was also unstable. To relieve the patient of her bunion and arch pain, stabilize her foot for better function and efficiency and prevent further progression of the problem, we performed a Lapidus Bunion repair, Navicular-Cuneiform, and medial column fusion. Please see the before and after pictures and X-rays. Thankfully, the patient’s arch is restored, her bunion is gone and she’s as active as ever and very happy with her new foot!
