Chronic Foot and Ankle Pain – Case 2

This 60 year-old patient came to us complaining of foot pain and ankle instability.

This patient complained that standing for long periods of time was very painful and they were unable to walk more than a few blocks at a time without experiencing pain and loss of ankle function. Upon further review patient was diagnosed with a flat foot deformity.

In order to stabilize the foot and restore mobility, we stabilized the ankle by giving the patient an entirely new ankle ligament.

The heel bone was cut and shifted under the leg in correct alignment. Furthermore, we reconstructed and recreated the patients arch which was collapsed.

The Patient is doing well, pain free and walking better than before!
